We were able to have a wonderful lesson with our investigator Sonia who had a baptismal date for the 29 but doesn't feel she is quite ready to make the commitment quite yet so we had to drop her date but she will have another one soon! She knows the church is true and wants to get baptized but wants to make sure she is living everything and is ready! She was so worried about us when she told us! She didn't want to hurt our feelings it was so cute! But we kept reassuring her that her baptism is for her not us! Then after our lesson she did our finger nails! She is awesome!
On Wednesday we had the most amazing Zone Conference! It went from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. It was so long but it went by so fast! And they fed us pizza! But seriously the spirit was so strong and we were able to learn more about the importance of commitments and committing people to do things and how by doing that it will help them come closer to Christ and about a lot of other things! But my favorite part, the part that i felt the spirit the most was when they showed us this video of a football team and one of the players had to carry this guy on his back and crawl with a blindfold over his eyes and his coach right there motivating him the whole time to keep going! He just wanted him to give his best! Then we related it to the gospel! Jesus Christ is our coach, he is always right there motivating us and helping us keep going but we have to promise that we will do our best and we will make it to the end goal! It was so inspirational and i was really able to relate it to everything i have been going through! I was also able to get a priesthood blessing from my mission president as well! He told me so many things to really help me keep going and it was such a relieving experience to hear words and guidance from my Heavenly Father.
We had so many miracles this week! Almost all the people we were teaching had to be dropped from our teaching pool! So we went finding almost all week trying to find more people and ended up having 175 Quality Gospel Conversations (QGC)! That is a lot considering our goal every week is suppose to be 140! So we were able to talk to lots of people and met 3 who are interested in learning more! The first one is Michelle. She ended up meeting missionaries in the 1980's and they gave her a Book of Mormon and she still has it and reads it and is ready to hear more! She is a little crazy but a fun crazy! Then we met Kevin, who we were able to teach him about the restoration and wants to come to church this week! He is so cool and really prepared! Then the third person we met yesterday. Her name is Kaysha and she is 17 and her mom said she could learn more if she wants to but she wants a change in her life! We were able to share with her what is different about our church and is really interested in hearing more and reading the Book of Mormon! We are really excited to start working with them and are praying we can meet with them before transfers which is next week! So crazy!
I really have seen Christ in my life so much lately! I truly have been able to relate it to my life and have been able to rely on the Saviors Atonement so much more! I recently decided to go through the Book of Mormon and highlight how many times it says Christ name or talks about him and i just got to Jacob 5 and it says his name over 850 times and i am sure i have even missed a few! I couldn't believe it! It really has shown me how the Book of Mormon really is another testament of Jesus Christ! He is so important and really is the center of the gospel and my life! Christ had to be exactly perfect and doing his best at every moment of everyday of his entire! If he didn't then he would have been able to perform the Atonement! Life is so hard but God does not instigate pain or suffering in any of our lives but He can weave it into His purposes of making sure we are truly reaching the potential he knows we can reach! He gave us His Only Begotten Son so we can rely on someone to help us through life's struggles and who can be there for us every step of the way, now lets all rely on the one person we know will always understand all we go through! Love and miss you all so much!
Love,
Sister Heaton
