All i have to say is the Port Alberni is serioulsy amazing and is so full of miracles! This transfer has been the most miraculous transfer in my whole mission! We were able to see so many! We just got transfer calls again!!! So crazy how fast time has flown by! I have no idea what happened to this past transfer but it has been one of the best on my mission! The Lord has given me one of the most interesting and craziest missions, but i am very thankful! I love change and i love adventures and you definitely learn more when you are out of your comfort zone! I will be honest i was quite sad when i heard i was leaving Port Alberni, Sister Atkinson and i were seeing so many miracles and have found so many amazing prepared people but i know that the Lord needs me in Victoria for a reason. It is actually really interesting, when i was praying to know if that is where he really needed me there and for confirmation i was reading in my studies 1 Nephi 17 all about Nephi and his family leaving their beautiful land in Bountiful and building a boat to go to the promised land. When i likened that to myself i realized that Port Alberni is amazing but the Lord has somewhere even better for me to go and that truly helped me to know that he has people prepared and ready for me in Victoria whether its my companion, people they are working with or someone we have to find i am excited to go and do what the Lord needs me to do and find the miracles that are prepared in Victoria!
Port Alberni is doing amazing though! We had our wonderful baptism with Pam and even more amazing we had 3 investigators we are working with come as well! Two of them are a couple, Betty and Robert! Betty and Robert are people we found in our area book that we have been meaning to go and see for a while now and for some reason we always forgot or didn't have any time or they weren't home when we tried. We had a lesson for 4 all ready and a member and then it cancelled last minute so we decided to go out with our member anyway. We had 5 backups that we prayed about and i felt really strongly we should see Betty and so did the member. So we walked over there! Timing was amazing! Betty wasn't home but Robert has just gotten back from Alberta the day before and so he let us in and they had been looking for a church as of recently so we got to teach him the whole restoration and the spirit was so strong! He wanted us to come back and teach his wife the same thing! So she called us later that night and set up an appointment for Friday. We met with her and taught her the whole thing again and Robert was pretty much testifying of it the whole time! They said they would be baptized on the 10th of October! They are as golden as you can get! We found them on Thursday miraculously and then met with them again on Friday and they came to the baptism on Saturday and to church on Sunday! They are so thirsty to know more about the gospel and already know it is true! They are so willing to be obedient to the commandments and love how welcome everyone is at church! I am so sad i won't be here to help them but as long as they make the covenant with Heavenly Father i will be happy!
We also got to go the famous tourist place on the island, Tofino! Sadly it was super foggy but still beautiful! it was a fun p-day activity though! We had some amazing food and had a great time with the Hunters, the senior couple that took us! They are so funny and so sweet!
I am so grateful for everything! I have learned so much in just these past few weeks! This gospel has truly changed my life and will keep changing me so i can continue to come even closer to my Savior! For all he does for me, the least i can do is do all i can to be even closer to him and show him my love! Love and miss you all!
Love,
Sister Heaton
