Hello Everyone,
It has been another adventurous week in Vancouver! We have been having some great times! This week was amazing! We had Zone Meeting with our zone and the North Vancouver Zone! It was absolutley amazing! We got to see a movie called Christmas Mission and watched the He Is The Gift video again. I was able to learn so many things and the spirit was so strong! It was absolutely amazing! I don't usually cry during Zone Meetings but this one the spirit was so strong that i probably cried about 4 times! Then right after a member of our ward made us all a Christmas lunch and we got to take a picture with Santa! It was a lot of fun to get to know more of the missionaries serving in our area! I also got my ginormous box for Christmas! Thanks mom! The funny part was we had to carry the box all the way back to our apartment, in the rain and we had to wait for the bus except we had 3 buses pass us by because they were too full! We had to take turns holding it, but it made it back to our apartment safely! We made our Christmas tree and i have been opening our 12 days of Christmas everyday! Thanks mom!
We have also been able to have a member visit every night now so we have been able to get to know a lot more members in the ward. A member in our ward, the Stancliffes are absolutely amazing! They showed us this amazing video that has the piano guys, David Archuleta and the world record of largest nativity! It was absolutely amazing! The music with the footage is so inspiring!
So there are these new cars called Cars2Go, where you can kind of borrow them if you are a member then reserve them for a specific amount of time then you can park it wherever and someone can go and just drive it. It is the weirdest concept every but kind of cool. Anyway i feel like they are following me because i see one probably every 20 minutes and i hate them now. They are a useless little tiny car. You can't fit anything in there except 2 people. So i took a picture with them so you could see them.
Funny Story of the Week: So we are transit missionaries meaning we have to take the buses and skytrain to get around. There are 3 of us and one of my companions told me that the last companionship here got split up one time on the bus because one got on and the other got left behind because they were talking to someone, so we made a plan just in case that happened that if it was the bus you just had to run after it and if it was the sky train you just wait there and then the other person of people would get off and come back and get you. So you have probably guessed by now why i am telling you our emergency plan, because it happened. . . yesterday. . . to our trainee! Hahaha! It was so funny but really sad at the same time. So we were getting on the sky train and Sister Sanders got on then we heard the ding for the doors to close then Sister Foote pushed me on then the doors closed and she got left at the station and we started going. At first it was so funny, we followed the plan, at the next stop we got off and came back except she wasn't there when we got there. That is when we started to panic. We looked everywhere so we had to call the Sister Training Leaders and see what we should do. That's when one of the Sisters said a prayer and after it was done, both Sister Sanders and i thought we should go to the next station where we just came from. So we did that and right when we were getting off a member called us and it was Sister Foote who had found a member and borrowed their phone! We felt so bad but it was really funny! Good times here in Vancouver! So all is well in Zion now that we found Sister Foote!
This Christmas Season has really helped me to learn more about my Savior and how he truly is the first gift of Christmas. I have really been able to focus on how he has been a gift in my life and what i can give him this Christmas since he has given me almost everything i have. My gift to the Savior this Christmas is to give him my will. There are only 2 things he doesn't have our will and our hearts. As we give him these 2 things we are able to really show our Savior our love for him this Christmas season. I have given him my heart by trying to have love and charity for everyone around me and continually remembering that all these people that i pass by everyday, sit next to and talk to are our brothers and sisters, our Heavenly Fathers children who each deserve a chance to accept the amazing message we have to share about how they can start there own journey towards eternal life. Then i have decided to give him my will or my agency by using the gift he has given us, my agency to do everything i can to share the gospel with as many people as i can. As i do my best to become comfortable being uncomfortable that is when the miralces will start to come forth! I love you all and challenge you to think of a gift you can give our Savior this Christmas!
Love,
Sister Heaton
