This week has been a week of miracles! We were able to see so many miracles this week it was insane! It was almost like all the miracles we have been waiting for all came in one week!
So this week we were able to have lessons with tons of people! Last Monday we had a dinner appointment with the family who's son we just helped prepare for baptism last week! Then afterwards we got to have an FHE with all the missionaries in Prince George and Kecia was able to come with us! It was a lot of fun and really good for her!
Tuesday was Remembrance Day! We were able to go downtown and watch the parade they had for it with a family in our ward. It was so cool! They had a bunch of Canadian flags all down the street and all the Mounties and police officers, the boy scouts, etc and a bunch of men playing the bag pipes! It was really cool! Literally though it was about -12! I thought my hands and legs were going to break off! Then we had Zone Meeting! It was probably one of the more spirit filled ones we have had. We talked a lot about how we all need to be leaders and lead all of Heavenly Fathers children back to him. Then they gave us the How To: Baptism, 10 steps to help someone get baptized! That was really cool to see how important it is to plan and work hard, and especially be exactly obedient and how that brings forth the blessings we need to did our Fathers work! Then of course at the very end they picked 4 of us to bear our testimonies. Can you guess who was picked again? Me of course! That is twice in 2 meetings! How ironic but apparently i needed it because the spirit told both my mission president and zone leaders that i need to but it was a really good experience! i love sharing my testimony. Then we went on exchanges! I was with Sister Hanks in my area and that was fun! We went finding and helped a member make her Christmas cookies. We found this awesome family we are going to try to see this week!
Wednesday it started to snow a little just perfect tiny sparkly snow flakes so it was just a dust on the ground but the snowflakes were perfect and my companion is from California so when she saw them she just yelled i love snowflakes! There is a God! We also were able to have another lesson with Kecia to talk about some things and go over some lessons! SHE IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY! We are so excited! We planned our her program and it is going to be the best experience ever! We have known her for 4 months and have had so many ups and downs but she is finally getting baptized! So we helped her get ready for it! Then when Sister Goldthorpe was on exchange with Sister Lavery they went to see a member and a non member who is her granddaughter was there and apparently had gone to church when she was younger and loves the gospel principles book and reads the Book of Mormon and D&C and wants to meet with missionaries again! The crazy part is she lives in our building and is next door to the Elders! How ironic is that! So we are going to start teaching her now! Then that night we went and helped our ward serve at the soup kitchen. Can i just tell you how lucky each of us are! Just seeing all these people just goes to show you how blessed each of us are and how lucky we are to have the gospel in our lives! That was a really humbling and spiritual experience for me! Plus, funny story, Sister Goldthorpe got proposed to by some creepy guy! That was really funny but also kind of creepy! But was really good experience!
Thursday was kind of a crazy day we found a new person to teach and that was a miracle that we were able to go and help her. Then we had an amazing meeting with the relief society about how they can help us and how we can help them hasten the work and help the ward. Then we had sparatic planning which was crazy but we were able to get it all done!
Friday we went and helped a member clean her basement! Thank you mom for teaching me how to clean. I gave Sister Goldthorpe permission to hit me if my house ever looked like hers. It was so gross and there was so much just crap everywhere but we were able to make it look tons better. Then we went on exchanges again and i got to go to the other sister area. We had a miracle lesson where we took the members to someone they referred us to and had a lesson with them and invited them to be baptized! It was such a miracle! Then we had to exchange back for a while so the sister could go to there ward potluck together so we decided to drop by this family who is having a hard time and drop some cookies off. She answered the door and they never let missionaries in but we offered to help them clean there house and she let us in and we helped her do the dished (Thanks again mom for making me unload and load the dishes, i was able to strategically fit almost all the dishes they had in the dishwasher) Then we taught them about faith, and there son who is 10 isn't baptized and doesn't believe in God so we were trying to help him with that but it is going to take some time but they invited us to come do a family home evening tonight which we are super excited about! And the boy who doesn't believe in God made us some wands he carved! So cool! Then we exchanged back and Sister Lavery met this crazy guy who was comparing things to the taste of an orange and a map to get out of a forest! He was crazy!
Saturday we walked around outside forever and it was so cold and windy it was about -13 with the wind! So cold! But we were able to get Kecia her jump suit to try on and got her ready for that and finalized her baptismal plans! We got to see a few members and less actives. Then yesterday Kecia came to church and it was a miracle! Then we were able to see her again at a fireside! We had to make 50 chocolate chip cookies for it so all during lunch and dinner i was baking! It was really fun and almost all of them were gone so that was good too! Anyway, this week has really been one of miracles that have taught me so much! It just proves to me that Heavenly Father does love each and everyone of us and knows us personally! We talked about patriarchal blessings in Gospel Principles on Sunday and someone suggested that we go through and look for different Christlike attributes in it then look at them and figure out which ones you need to work on and which ones you can magnify! I did it this morning and it was so amazing to see what i need to work on and improve so i can reach my full potential so i am going to challenge you all to do the same! i love you all and hope you have an amazing week! Love and miss you!
