So this was an interesting week! Almost every single appointment we had fell through or cancelled! It was so sad! But on the bright side we are have a bunch more planned for this next week and are teaching a whole bunch of awesome people! We are working with this amazing family right now, the Ratzlaff's! They are so prepared it is crazy! The mom, Laura and the daughter Elyse came to church yesterday and both had a great time! The hard part will be to get the dad to church because he works a lot but if it is meant to be then it will happen! It was also walking day on Saturday and it was a complete downpour all morning while we were outside contacting! We both looked like drowned cats, completely soaked! It was fun but also just a little chilly!
Also this week, we had a specialized training this past weekend where the assistants and mission mom trained and we each got an interview with President! That was so good! The spirit was so strong and i was able to learn so much! Everything they talked about was so inspired and all of my questions from the past few days were answered so it was pretty much amazing! Something that i absolutely loved was they took the story of the Anit-Nephi-Lehis and applied it to each of us. It is in Alma 23 and 24! they related it to each of us and how we need to do what they did, find what our weapons of war or those things that are keeping us from being completely consecrated or what is holding us back and cleanse them with the power of the Atonement and bury them and then never go back to it ever again just like they did even when they were being attacked. They asked each of us to pray and to ask the Lord what our weapons of war are and what we need to do to bury them and never go back to them even when times get hard. We have all been given these weaknesses so as we work on them and rely on our Savior for strength we can build those weakness and make them into strengths.
I wanted to invite all of you to do the same thing, pray to heavenly father and know what your weapons of war are and what you need to do to bury them so you can turn those weaknesses into strengths! I know that when you do that you will feel a difference in your life, will feel Christs Atonement strenghten you and give you the support you need and you will be even closer to your Heavenly Father!
I love my mission so much! I truly just want to help each person that we meet and pray that we can continue to help them in their lives to find the true joy and happiness in life. There have been a few times where i just cry because i want everyone i meet to truly come unto Christ and be healed. I found this scripture the other day that truly summed up what i have been feeling and how i feel about the people in my stewardship, "But I, Nephi, have written what I have written, and I esteem it as of great worth, and especially unto my people. For I pray continually for them by day, and mine eyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know that he will hear my cry." I pray for all the people that we meet and are teaching just hoping that they will see how amazing this gospel is and it can truly help them now and in the future. I am so grateful for this time i have to completely give all my attention and focus to it so i can truly help those in need! I love you all so much! Have a great week!
