So this week was absolutely incredible! We saw so many miracles and were able to teach so many wonderful people we have found these past few months here in Nanaimo. It was a perfect last week in Nanaimo as we both got transfer news! Sister Christensen is follow up training in Victoria and I am going to pink wash (a white wash of two new people coming in but instead of 2 new elders coming in- there are only elders there, 2 new sisters are coming in hence the pink part) in Port Alberni which is still on the island and just about 2ish hours away from Nanaimo. Two new sisters are coming to Nanaimo, so they white washed it again. I get to be companions with Sister Atkinson who is from Austrailia and has been my Sister Training Leader twice now and also came out with me so we get to be together!!! I can't wait!
This past week like i said was the best week we have had here in Nanaimo! We have our investigator Linda Choy who is still progressing towards baptism for August 16, her birthday. She is so excited and can't even wait! She even invited a whole bunch of her friends to come! I am sad i won't get to be here for it but as long as she is continually coming closer to Christ then i am happy! We got to have an amazing first lesson with our miracle new investigator Lynda Terry who is just wanting truth. We testified about the Book of Mormon and how important it is to read and pray to know for yourself that is is true and when she does that she will find the truth she is looking for! So that was a very amazing and spiritual lesson! She really wants to come to church but her work schedule keeps her from it but i know she will be able to in the future!
Then lastly Justin!!!! He is seriously so golden! We finally got to meet with him after two weeks of phone calls and texts! We gave him a church tour and the whole time he kept saying "our church" so he already is considering himself a member! He really felt the spirit and had the greatest desire to come to church tomorrow and see what its like! Sadly he had a family emergency come up and wasn't able to make it but can't wait to keep learning and come to church this coming week! He has really changed Sister Christensen and i so much! After we found him it really helped us to see how the miracles Heavenly Father gives us are given to change our very natures. To become even more so the people he needs us to be and show us the more we allow him to guide us in our lives the more children we will be able to change and bless!
We have had such a great past few days saying goodbye to these amazing members and recent converts and investigators! They are all so amazing and have helped Sister Christensen and I grow and change and continue to grow even closer to our Savior!
I am so grateful to have been able to serve with such an amazing missionary these past few months! Sister Christensen is the hardest working missionary i have ever met and will do anything for anyone! I have learned so many things from her these past few transfers that i will never forget! She is so loving and just wants to make everyone happy by serving them! We have seen so many hearts softened and so many miracles due to service and love. She has really shown me the importance of service and how it really does help everyone around you! She is such an amazing example and i know her and her new companion will see so many miracles in Victoria!
I LOVE my mission so much and i will never forget all the amazing miracles and things that have really changed who i am. This past week we also had a Zone Meeting and talked a lot about pride! It is a gateway sin that leads to a host of other human weaknesses. Every person has a relationship with the sin of pride. No one has avoided it; few overcome it. Uchtdorf said, "We must realize that all of God’s children wear the same jersey. Our team is the brotherhood of man. This mortal life is our playing field. Our goal is to learn to love God and to extend that same love toward our fellowman. We are here to live according to His law and establish the kingdom of God. We are here to build, uplift, treat fairly, and encourage all of Heavenly Father’s children." As we get rid of the pride that we all have inside of us whether we think we are better than those around us or we don't think we are adequate enough to be an instrument in the Lords hands, just remember that we are all here to help one another and to all reach the same goal. When our heart is in the right place, and we are humble, we do not complain that the task given to us from our Father in Heaven is unworthy of our abilities. We must gladly serve wherever we are asked. When we do this, the Lord can use us in ways beyond our own understanding to accomplish His work. I have really been humbled this past week as i have really been able to understand how i can become a better instrument in the Lords hands and use what he has given me and do what he wants me to do as i humble myself and rely on him! I love you all so much and hope you all have a great week! I will share with you how my first week in Port Alberni is!
Love,
