This was kind of a weird week toward the end but the beginning was the best part!
We got to have dinner with Rose, our recent convert, on Monday. She is the best! We love her so much and she still keeps daily contact just like our district leader told her to do the week of her baptsim! Haha!
The best part about this week was my exchange with Sister Gibbs! She is absolutely amazing and so much fun! We had a great time and were able to see so many miracles because we were on exchange and were fasting for zone meeting the next day! We were able to pray with so many people, invite someone to be baptized on the street and taught the whole restoration to a woman we met at a doorstep whom we set up a return appointment with for this week! We also were able to run into a former and have a short lesson with her and ran into the most amazing potential ever. Sister Christensen and I met her at the bus stop before our exchange and said a prayer with her and gave her a Book of Mormon then Sister Gibbs and i met her again later on and she said she was already reading the Book of Mormon and couldn't wait to share it with her husband! She is so prepared! We will hopefully be able to meet with her this week if her work schedule allows her to!
Then we had an amazing Zone Meeting that really just lifted all of our spirits so much and helped us know what we needed to change and do better at so we can continue to help others come closer to Christ!! So we were really just so pumped and ready to get out and work! It was a great meeting filled with the spirit!
We also went to this amazing place called Pirate Chips and ate the best poutine ever and got a deep fried orea! It was so worth it especially since my companion had never had poutine and has been out 9 months! :)
Other than that this past week has consisted of a lot of finding! We were able to find a lot of people to teach on exchanges and throughout the week so our week this week is now filled with appointments of people that want to learn more so we have been praying we will be able to meet with all of them and build up our teaching pool!!!
I have learned a lot about the importance of reading my scriptures everyday this week! Long story short Nephi was so inspired when he wrote 1 Nephi 15:24 that says, "And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction." Satan will do whatever he can to attack us and try and find any whole in our armor so he can slowly take us down. The Book or Mormon is one of the greatest weapons we have to help us overpower Satans deceptions and distractions. He will never stop attacking which means we can't ever stop reading or praying! The small and simple things are always the most power weapons we have!
I hope you all have a great week and i can't wait to talk to you next week!! (especially you family when i get to talk to you and see you on Skype for Mothers Day!!)
Love,
Sister Heaton
