This week has gone by so fast i cannot believe it! My life here has just been flashing before my eyes!!! I realized a few days ago that is has been a year since i opened my mission call!!!! I am so grateful for all the amazing journey i have been on since that day i realized where i would be spending the next 18 months!!! I love Canada more than anything and have loved every minute i have been here and all the amazing people i have met!!!
This week has been more craziness as we have been trying to figure out where everything is still! Our area is huge! It goes from Qualicum Beach all the way down to Lady Smith! It is really big and hard to cover it all but we are trying!
On Friday the senior couple went with us up to the Qualicum Beach area! It is so pretty there! We got to meet with a few investigators there and see if we should be going there more and we got to meet with some amazing people! We really want to go back and help the branch up there to get a bit bigger and have some families that are going to stay there! But the best part about that trip was on the way an investigator we have that just moved from South Carolina that searched out the church by finding the Relief Socitey president on Facebook and getting in touch with us and wants to be baptized! She now has baptisimal date for the 25th of April!!! We just about died when we found out she wanted to be baptized!!! She is amazing and is so prepared! She has been looking into churches her whole life and finally started to look into ours online and just felt that is where she needed to be! She is amazing and has such a strong desire to know and learn for herself! We have been praying so hard for a baptism this month and it came out of the blue! Heavenly Father works in mysterious and unexpected ways but no matter what everything that happens in our lives is because of his love for us! He always is looking out for us and is working so hard so we can be happy and enjoy this life on earth!! I love this gospel so much and it makes me so happy to see it change someone's life and make them so happy!
On Saturday we did what we call a media blitz to promote #realBCmormons! The Book of Mormon musical is coming to Vancouver so the church wanted to put out a bunch of positive media about the church to help people see who we really are! It was a lot of fun! We got to have a few members follow us around and be with us to take pictures and post the things we did on Facebook and twitter and such! We got to have a recent convert come with us who is 18 and got to spend some time with a family with a little girl who just got baptized! We also got to do a fun service project for converts who just passed their year mark!!! It was a busy day, but a lot of fun! It has been a crazy and busy week!!!
I have learned so much this week just about how important prayer is!!! I found this amazing quote in the ensign about prayer, "Prayer is a great tower of strength, a pillar of unending righteousness, a mighty force that moves mountains and saves souls. Through it the sick are healed, the dead are raised, and the holy spirit is poured out without measure upon the faithful!" It is only with prayer we can talk to and receive guidance from the most power being in the universe. God cares about each of us. He will listen and he will answer, especially when our prayers are specific! My companion and i have comp into an area we have no idea about and we have just been praying everyday with faith that we would find someone that can be baptized this month and Heavenly Father provided us with someone who was more than prepared to be baptized all the way from South Carolina! He truly knows what we are each going through and knows what we each need at every moment! He loves us and will always do what is best for us!
Love and miss you all!!!
Love,
Sister Heaton
