This week was great!! We did so many things and it was Halloween! Many people told us we would have snow by Halloween except we haven't gotten any down where we live but up in the Hart they have gotten some but not nearly as much as what people thougtht! It has been really cold though about 1-3 degrees and this morning it was -2. We also ran out of K's so we had to walk everywhere! So we were able to go to a YSA activity last week and see some of our less active YSA which was a lot of fun! Then we were out tracting on Tuesday and our Relief Society President called us and picked us up and took us to a Halloween Tea for older people but it was so cute!! They had all these cute decorations and it was almost like all those times we had tea. They had little sandwiches and fruit and veggies and baby potatoes. Then some baby desserts. Then we helped them clean up and set up for the Halloween Party we went to on Wednesday!
On Wednesday we had District meeting then afterward some members from Vanderhoof took us all to Red Robin for lunch! Then we went tracting until the Halloween party at the Church! It was a combined activity with the other ward so there was 10 missionaries there and we were all just trying to talk to all the people we could! It was a lot of fun and turned out wonderful! Sister Goldthorpe bought capes from the store that was Superman and Batman reversible but we switched name tags and wore glasses so it was like our Clark Kent in the Front then Superman in the back! That was a lot of fun! Then the Zone Leaders found out we were walking everywhere so they gave us 100 extra K's which was awesome! We were able to go up to the Hart (an area that is really spread out and takes a lot of K's to get up there) and were able to have lunch with a member then go tracting a whole bunch more! That was pretty much all we did this week was tract because we didn't have enough K's and we are trying to replenish our teaching pool. Then we were able to teach Kaden the last of the Commandments and they decided he is going to get baptized on November 8th! We are so excited! He is the cutest and has been waiting for so long!
Then on Friday it was Halloween and we were able to have a lesson with Kecia then had to stay in from 6-9 and plan since we couldn't go out. It was really fun, the other Sisters came to our apartment and we had a planning party and the Deckwas gave us some candy so it was really good! Then on Saturday it was our walking day! So we mostly just tracted up in the Hart and tried to find more people to teach! We had been tracting for 31/2 hours and it was really cold and we were both about to stop and give up and that is when we knocked on this woman's door and she has been having a really hard time with depression and life. She is a single mom and hasn't been to a church for a while but we were able to talk to her about the message we have and she almost started crying so we are going to see her again this week!
Saturday Sister Goldthorpe got her hair cut to about her shoulders then i dyed it for her like a redish brown color. It looks really good for me dying someones hair for the first time. When we went to church on Sunday i had straightened my hair and her hair was different so everyone thought i did something really different to my hair so when we walked it everyone kind of did a back and forth stare at us and couldn't quite figure out what was different then we told them. It was kind of funny.
Sunday was a good day too! Kaden go this baptismal interview and he passed! They asked Sister Goldthorpe to speak on baptism and the Holy Ghost! We were also able to go to a members for lunch then went to the CES Fireside and visit a few more members! This week went really well! At the moment we are only teaching 2 people right now Kecia and Chad who is a members husband and wants to get baptized but not until next summer because he wants it to be in a lake. But today was really good! All us sisters were able to get coats and prepare ourselves for the winter! I found a really nice and warm one! So i am finally prepared!
I am absolutely loving my mission! I couldn't have asked for a better experience and time where i can devote all my time and attention to serving the Lord and doing what truly matter which is bringing people to Christ! I absolutely love the gospel and all it does for me and for others! I know that the Church and Jesus Christ's gospel is true and that it truly can help each of us in any part of out lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and can answer any question that any of us have. I know that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God and that he came to earth and took upon himself each of our pains, sicknesses and sins that we all have gone through so we can progress and become even more like our Heavenly Father! I love you all and miss you tons!
