This week once again has been an adventure as always! Life as a trainer, in a tri and whitewashing never gets old! This week we were able to get our way around a little better but got lost a few times! Our area is so big! We had another great week! We have gotten to know a few more members and been able to talk to a lot of people! We had an amazing district meeting this week about consecrating our hearts, might, mind and strength and giving it all to the Lord! It was so good to really talk about the different ways each of us can do that and really give our all to Him! We also have been sharing He Is The Gift cards and handing them out to everyone! It is an amazing video the church has just released about Jesus Christ and Christmas! It is so inspiring and reminds me a lot of the Because of Him video! The video is just a reminder to each of us what Christmas is really about and how Jesus Christ is the greatest gift of all! If you haven't seen it, I strongly recommend it! We also had a Ward Christmas Party on Saturday night! That was an adventure in itself! We have 11 missionaries serving in our ward so there were just a lot of missionaries everywhere and we were able to get to know a few more ward members which was nice!
Today for fun we went to Purdy's Chocolate Factory! It is seriously the best chocolate i have ever had! It was a lot of fun and was a good break from our everyday P-day activities! I have really learned to love transit as well and makes me appreciate cars and how awesome they truly are since we literally walk everywhere then it takes about 30 minutes to get anywhere with the bus and Skytrain but it makes it fun and you get to meet a lot of amazing people!
Coolest miracle ever on Saturday: We had been finding all day and we decided to go to this park someone recommended and we couldn't see anyone and finally i just started singing "a Child's prayer" asking heavenly father to help us find people to talk to then this guy with a dog came walking towards us and told us to walk up the hill a bit to the conservatory where a whole bunch of families were because it was free! So we went and were able to talk to a whole bunch of people and see lots of birds and plants!
Another miracle that happened yesterday: We had a member visit at 8 and had about an hour until then so i felt impressed to tract a street close by and we had knocked on a few doors met some nice people then crossed the street and did the other side and the first house was this really nice guy named Raj who was studying for exams but wanted to talk to us and told us to come back after Christmas. Then we walked away then a few seconds later he ran out and gave us all oranges because we were out in the dark and cold! It was so cool! And we had been fasting all day with our mission so it was perfect!
I have been able to learn so many things this week! Life in Vancouver is so much different than Prince George it is almost the complete opposite! There is a quote by Neal A. Maxwell that says, "Whatever we lack will get attention, one way or another." I definitely feel like everything that i have been lacking as a missionary has been brought to attention this week and probably will the rest of the transfer! It is amazing what happens when we continue to do our best everyday to help God fulfill his purpose of "bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." I have been able to really learn how to work hard and understand how to consecrate myself and do everything in my power to talk to everyone and help each person i meet come closer to Jesus Christ! I love you all so much and hope you are having an amazing week!
Love,
Sister Heaton
