Dear Family,
What a week! So it is week one of the new transfer and we are so ready and excited! There was a lot of things going on this week! It was crazy! We have been raking a bunch of leaves for people for service which was a lot of fun! Then we did some service for a member. She wanted us to disassemble her bathroom. We were doing really well, there was a chainsaw involved and a lot of hammers and crowbars but it went really well for the most part. But odds were if we were working with pipes we would most likely get sprayed with water right? Well we did! I got sprayed right in the face and there was water all over all 3 of us but it was so much fun!
We also went to a dinner at a members house and they invited the referral they gave us a few weeks ago and we were able to teach her the whole first lesson. She is so prepared and is just looking for the truth and let me tell you, she definitely found it!
It was Sister Goldthorpes Hump Day (halfway/9 months mark) on the 22 which is crazy! She came out on her mission when i had decided to come on a mission in February! Anyway, we have also been teaching Kaden the cutest 8 year old who is getting baptized on November 7! We have one more lesson with him and he is ready!
We had the AP's come up and have a mini zone meeting with us on Friday! It was so inspiring and uplifting! Afterwards we were all so pumped and excited to work! We learned a lot about praying more specifically and making sure we are planning really well so we can be completely consecrated!
We also were able to go on exchange with the STL's which was a lot of fun!I was with Sister Lavery, who is an amazing missionary! She taught me so much and we were able to go finding a whole bunch! She inspired me so much! We had an amazing miracle where we knocked on this guys door and starting talking to him and asking him questions then asked if we could come back and teach him more and he was like "Why don't you teach me now?" SO WE DID! We taught him the Plan of Salvation right on his door step with the pictures and a prayer and everything! He had so many similar beliefs it was crazy! So we scheduled another time for the Elders to go back and teach him!
Sunday was probably the craziest Sunday of my mission so far! So our ward went on a ward temple trip this weekend so a lot of people were still gone so Sister Goldthorpe and I had to say the opening and closing prayer in Sacrament. Then an 11 year old less active decided to come to church and bring her 3 friends with her who are all under the age of 6. But the worst part is their mom had the flu so they didnt have any parents to watch them so we got the opportunity to. We thought we would die. We were watching these 4 children during sacrament then were asked to help in the Primary for the rest of church because they were low on teachers and there were tons of kids so that was tons of fun! Thankfully they asked us to give prayers and not talks though because the Elders were called up on the spot to give talks at the last minute! That was a blessing!
We also were able to figure things out with the AP's about Kecia and some of her restrictions for baptism so we had a lesson with her last night and she is going to get baptized on November 22nd (which is also Sister Goldthorpes birthday)! We are so excited! She is so ready and prepared and can't wait to get baptized!
I am so grateful and blessed to be able to come on a mission and to preach the gospel to everyone i come in contact with! What an amazing and exciting time to be a missionary right now! The Lord has hastened his work and is using us to do it! All we have to do is become the instrument that he needs us to be and work as hard as we can! Because "those who has desires to serve God are called to the work!" Now as we check the desires of our hearts and do our best to match up our actions with Heavenly Fathers will that is when we will start to see the miracles and blessings that we all look for in life! I love you all and wish you an amazing Halloween!
Love,
Sister Heaton
