Dear Family and Friends,
This week was busy! Fall is approaching! The leaves are changing colors and it is starting to get a bit colder but most days feels perfect! We have been running around like crazy trying to get to one appointment to the other. It was the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive and Sister Goldthorpe were given 2 routes one of 111 houses and one of 103 house to drop off bags and pick them up. Then a member from our ward wasn't able to do hers so she called and asked us to do it for her so we got another route of 80 houses. We dropped those off on Wednesday and Thursday then picked them up on Saturday morning. That was actually a lot of fun. We had gathered 36 bags of food with just our 2 routes! I loved doing it so much I can't wait to do it next year and i think i might actually do it when i get home! It feels so good to do service and help others!
We had a lot of appointments with some great investigators! We are really trying to find even more people to teach who are really interested in progressing and really learning more about the gospel! We had an investigator ,Kecia who is 19 and going to college come to all 3 hours of church yesterday and the CES Fireside where we watched a broadcast of Elder Christofferson. That was really good! She is really interested in learning more and loves how welcoming everyone is at our church.
We also presented what we learned in Zone Conference Pray, Teach, Testify and Invite where we pray with members, teach them a principle and bear our testimonies about it to invite the spirit then we ask them if they know anyone who would be interested in learning more about the gospel. We have been promised by a member of the Seventy, Elder Johnson that someone who is prepared will come into each persons mind. We are going to start doing that and having dinner appointments with members hopefully this upcoming week! We are really excited to work together with the members and have more unity with them.
We were working on hope this week as our Christlike attribute. Every time we pick one it is challenged so we can find ways to strengthen each one. We had a lesson with a former investigator who is having a really hard time and had no hope at all. We had to help her find that hope and tell her everything was going to be okay and she could find hope through Christ and we were there for her. The most intense feelings you can't describe were in the room. It was a really emotional lesson and after we left she texted us that she was so happy we came and she felt so much better. Hope is so important for each of us to have. It teaches us to trust God and believing and expecting that things will turn out how they are suppose to. Heavenly Father knows each and everyone of us individually and has a plan for each of us. An amazing plan that is better than any of could imagine for ourselves. There are going to be times where life will get hard but as long as week keep marching on and trust in him we can and will make it through each trial we face!
I love you all and miss you tons!
Love,
Sister Heaton
