What an amazing and fun week it has been! We have been crazy busy!!!! So our mission President sends us a newsletter every week of the things we should be focusing on and this week was called "Beware of Pride" It was so good and really made me think of how just the littlest amount of pride can make a big difference and the importance of humility! So in our missionary coordination meeting we have with our ward we have a prayer list where we pray for our investigators, less actives, people having a hard time, etc. We had at the time one person we were teaching, Adrian and everyone else we either dropped or hadn't been able to meet with so we asked our ward missionary team to pray for us to find more people to teach! The days following we were blessed with so many miracles!
We met a woman, Gina, and her family of 7 outside a part members house and she was looking for a change for her and her family and we were able to meet with her again later in the week! She is so excited to meet with us and learn even more about the gospel! We can't wait to meet with her again and hopefully her family and bring them to church. We also got 3 referrals from our members which isn't very common! One a member brought to church, another is from a non member but her husband is and she was talking to someone she helps and she wants to come to church and take the lessons, and the other is a less active with a 13 year old son who isnt a member that wants us to teach her son!
Sister Christensen's Birthday was on Saturday and we had such great day! Doing service and having a little party with a member and then had the most amazing miracles! When we were going to a lesson with our member and the person didn't show up, so we went to the person we had for our backup and they weren't home and on our way back to the car we talked to this man from Saudi Arabia who invited us to his house fed us fruit and food he had and wanted to know more about what we believed! Then he invited us back for a dinner of traditional food from his country and he had to make sure he got a picture with us so he could send it to his family in Saudi Arabia! I got a pic with him too! He is so cool!
All of these miracles happened because we were humble enough to admit to a huge group of people that we were having a hard time with our teaching pool! It reminds me of a scripture in D&C 112:10 "Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers." God hears and answers our prayers as long as we pray with humility and faith!
I love this gospel so much and am so grateful to have the chance to share it with the amazing people in Nanaimo! This is the most important message in the world and i have the opportunity to share it with everyone i see and talk to! I hope you all have a great week and are able to see the good and positive around you! Love you all!
Love,
Sister Heaton

We went to Piper and Page Lagoon today and was able to have so much fun! We played with baby crabs that were everywhere, saw the most amazing purple and red starfish right on the beach and collected some seashells! It was so much fun and was absolutely beautiful! I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to serve!
